“Dixon was seen firing a Glock handgun multiple times at Ricky Thompson, with whom he had a dispute. This dispute led to the senseless loss of life and injury of innocent bystanders.”

On June 15, 2023, two people were killed and 14 were injured in the mass shooting. Dixon has been charged with deadly conduct, a third-degree felony, and police have suggested more charges may follow.

Per the affidavit:

  • The dispute began between rival rap groups "Whaa Ent" and "Get Money Entertainment" (which is also a gang, according to police).
  • This dispute involved insults and the murder of a "Get Money Entertainment" member.
  • Dixon has an extensive criminal history, including robberies, terroristic threats, assault, and weapon charges.
  • A witness stated Dixon's gun had a switch to convert it from semi-automatic to fully automatic fire.
  • Multiple witnesses placed Dixon at the scene, and one saw him wearing a ski mask.
  • Dixon told police he was at the event prior to the shooting.
  • Police found a social media post on Instagram where Dixon displayed a Glock with a switch.

This latest development sheds further light on the tragic events of that day and the gang-related dispute that sparked the violence.
