Video shows former President Donald Trump asking for his shoes as Secret Service agents escort him from a rally in Butler, PA, moments after an assassination attempt.

The gunman, Thomas Matthew Crooks, fired an AR-15 from a rooftop 400ft away. Trump told the New York Post the agents "hit me so hard that my shoes fell off. And my shoes are tight."

Assassination Attempt

A rallygoer, [Corey Comperatore], was killed, and two others critically injured. Trump said of the agents: "They did a fantastic job. It's surreal for all of us."

President Biden responded:

There's no place in America for this kind of violence or any violence, ever, period, no exceptions... We can't allow this violence to be normalized.
