Original Story:

The family of a missing Central Texas college student, Caleb Harris, has confirmation of their worst fears. On Wednesday, authorities identified the remains found on June 24 as those of the 21-year-old Texas A&M student.

"We all have heavy hearts this evening as we learned of the positive identification of our sweet Caleb. We will grieve our son... Thank you for your prayers and support during this tragic time." - Harris' family

Harris' body was discovered by city workers in a wastewater lift station. While detectives found no signs of homicide, the advanced decomposition prevented identification and determination of the cause of death. DNA testing was required, with results confirming it was Harris.

The investigation into Harris' death is still open, and authorities are urging anyone with information to contact the Corpus Christi Police Department.

Harris went missing in the early hours of March 4. Law enforcement, including the FBI and Texas Rangers, joined local teams and volunteers in an extensive search that even involved over 50 digital warrants and the analysis of over 1500 GB of data.
