Top Mexican Drug Lords Arrested in El Paso
Ismael "El Mayo" Zambada Garcia and Joaquín "El Chapo" Guzmán's son, Joaquin "El Chapito" Guzman Lopez, were arrested in El Paso, Texas, on Thursday.

According to the U.S. Department of Justice, both men face charges for leading the Sinaloa Cartel's criminal operations, including the trafficking of deadly fentanyl.
Who are El Mayo and El Chapito?
"El Mayo" is the alleged leader and co-founder of the Sinaloa Cartel, while "El Chapito" is one of four sons of "El Chapo," known as Los Chapitos, who inherited their father's cartel faction.

- January 28, 2003, District of Columbia.
- August 20, 2009 – Northern District of Illinois.
- April 11, 2012 – Western District of Texas.
- July 25, 2014 – Southern District of California.
- May 11, 2016 – Eastern District of New York.
El Chapo's Whereabouts:
"El Chapo" was extradited to the U.S. in 2017 and is currently serving a life sentence in a maximum-security prison. His son, Ovidio Guzman, was also arrested and extradited last year.
