Austin police arrest a man after a SWAT standoff, in connection with a domestic violence incident.

Austin police have arrested Kamren Cordell Lemon, 31, in connection with a domestic violence incident that occurred in Southeast Austin on Sunday, prompting a SWAT response.

At approximately 12:11 p.m., authorities were dispatched to the 1500 block of Faro Drive following a 911 call reporting a "physical disturbance" between a man and a woman. The suspect had fled the scene upon police arrival, and no arrest was made. The female victim was found with injuries consistent with strangulation and was treated by emergency medical services.

"The female victim had injuries consistent with strangulation, requiring medical attention by Austin-Travis County EMS medics," Sgt. Lee Knouse said in a briefing. "She was released from their care after evaluation and treatment."

Later, at 5:47 p.m., another 911 call was made, reporting a second disturbance at the same residence. The suspect had returned and was believed to be armed, according to witnesses. Due to concerns for the safety of officers and the suspect, the SWAT team was called in at 7 p.m., initiating a three-hour standoff.
