At least one person was injured after Dollywood experienced flash flooding from a strong thunderstorm that hit the area on Sunday. Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, where Dollywood is located, was under a flash flood warning per the National Weather Service, which cited "localized flooding due to abundant moisture and repeated heavy rainfall" as the main concern.
“Park guests were directed to safety during the storm with the assistance of the Pigeon Forge police and fire departments,” - Dollywood, via Social Media Statement.
One minor injury has been reported, though it is unclear if the injured party was an employee or a guest. Cleanup crews are currently working within the park, which is set to reopen Monday at noon. Dollywood is assisting guests whose vehicles were impacted by the flash flood. More severe weather is possible in the area from Tuesday through Thursday night.
