Austin Police Arrest Suspect in SWAT Standoff

Austin police have arrested Kamren Cordell Lemon, 31, following a SWAT standoff in connection with a domestic violence incident on Sunday.

At approximately 12:11 p.m., authorities responded to a call of a "physical disturbance" in the 1500 block of Faro Drive, according to Sgt. Lee Knouse. The suspect had fled the scene, and the female victim was found with injuries consistent with strangulation, and treated by EMS.

A second 911 call at 5:47 p.m. reported the suspect had returned and was armed. The SWAT team was called due to safety concerns, resulting in a three-hour standoff, ending with the suspect's arrest at 10:36 p.m.

"The SWAT team was called in...because of concerns over the officers' safety and the safety of the suspect."

Lemon is charged with impeding breathing or circulation/domestic violence and booked into Travis County Jail.
