Sahara Lounge: Austin's Best Bar?
Sahara Lounge in Austin has been recognized by USA TODAY as one of the country's best bars for 2024. Owner Topaz McGarrigle credits the venue's success to its eclectic ambiance and diverse community.
"I think what makes Sahara Lounge special...are the ghosts that live in the building... any space that has been a music venue for such a long time starts to have a special mojo in the walls. The community...is so warm and the diversity racially and age-wise is super unique."
The bar was chosen for its epic dance parties, timeless aesthetic, and celebration of community.
