Body of Maranda Ankofski Found in Utah

Texas Couple Missing in Moab, Utah Since June; Human Remains Identified as Maranda Ankofski

A Pearland, TX couple, Ray Ankofski, 58, and Maranda Ankofski, 50, were reported missing while hiking in Moab, UT on June 21.

Human Remains Identified:
The Grand County Sheriff's Office confirmed that remains discovered in Millcreek Canyon, a popular Utah hiking trail, belong to Maranda Ankofski. The couple was likely swept away in a flash flood, according to the sheriff's office. KVUE reported that prior to this discovery, the only clue found was a pair of pants clinched to a tree containing Ray Ankofski's wallet and ID.

The Search for Ray Ankofski Continues:

Ashlynn Ankofski, the couple's daughter, has started a GoFundMe to fund additional resources in the search for her parents. As of July 30, she has raised $29,530.

"We want nothing more than to bring our parents home regardless of the outcome, and unfortunately, this might require the help of sources outside of law enforcement," - Ashlynn Ankofski

The sheriff's office has not released any information regarding the discovery or whereabouts of Ray Ankofski.
