Two Men Dead After Road Rage Incident in California

Two men are dead after a road rage dispute turned deadly in Highland, California, on Saturday night. The San Bernardino County Sheriff's Office identified the men as Jonathan McConnell, 38, and Aaron Harris, 37.

"Harris stopped his vehicle and shouted threats at McConnell. When McConnell approached the vehicle, Harris fired a gun at McConnell, and McConnell returned fire," - Sheriff's Office Statement.

The Incident:

  • McConnell, a motorcycle rider, was splitting lanes on the 210 Freeway when he hit Harris's sedan.
  • Harris, with his two young children (aged 2 and 5) in the car, trailed McConnell off the freeway to a parking lot.
  • There, an argument escalated, and both men, armed, exchanged gunfire.
  • The Highland Sheriff's Office responded, finding both men wounded; they later succumbed to their injuries in the hospital.
  • A bystander was injured, and thankfully, the children were unharmed.
