Trump to Christians: Vote for me, then 'you won't have to vote again'

"In four years, you don't have to vote again, we'll have it fixed so good you're not going to have to vote."
— Former President Donald Trump

At the Believers’ Summit, a gathering for Christians, former President Donald Trump promised Christians they "won’t have to vote again" if they vote for him in November.

Democrats, including VP Kamala Harris and Rep. Adam Schiff, denounced [(https://x.com/AdamSchiff/status/1817046115151413702)] Trump's comments as "a promise to end democracy."

Trump’s campaign denied this, saying Trump was "talking about the importance of faith."

Some Republicans, like Sen. Tom Cotton and Gov. Chris Sununu, dismissed the remarks as a "joke" and "classic Trump-ism."

Trump’s full comment:

"Vote early, vote absentee, vote on Election Day. I don’t care how, but you have to get out and vote. And again, Christians, get out and vote just this time. You won’t have to do it anymore...In four years, you don't have to vote again, we'll have it fixed so good you're not going to have to vote."
