Texas Traffic Stop Uncovers Drugs in Buc-ee's Beaver Plushies

A routine traffic stop in Texas turned into an unusual drug bust when officers discovered marijuana and ecstasy hidden inside Buc-ee's beaver plush toys.

"This is a first for us," said a spokesperson for the Fayette County Sheriff's Office [https://www.co.fayette.tx.us/page/fayette.Sheriff].

The incident occurred early Wednesday when Deputy Cody Williams pulled over a San Antonio man, 47-year-old Lugene Davis Jr., on Interstate 10. Davis consented to a search, and Deputy Williams soon discovered the source of the marijuana smell: Buc-ee's beaver plushies in the backseat that had been re-stitched and stuffed with drugs.

Davis complained of chest pains and was transported to a local hospital by emergency medical services. Officials seized the drugs, including over two pounds of marijuana, and a warrant will be issued for Davis' arrest.
