'Yellowstone' Prequel '1923' to Film in Central Texas

Taylor Sheridan's 1923, the prequel to Yellowstone, is filming its second season in Central Texas. After shooting scenes in Austin and Lockhart, the production will move to Bartlett on August 19-20.

Legacy Casting is seeking locals for various roles, including sheriff's deputies, servers, and Comanche men, women, and children. A fitting in Austin, paid at $35, is required. Interested individuals should email extras@legacycasting.com with their information and desired role.

The first season of 1923, consisting of eight episodes, aired from December 2022 to February 2023. Filming locations for the new season include Austin, Lockhart, and Bartlett, with production expected to wrap in mid-September. The show is estimated to bring over $51 million to the Austin area's economy.

Although a premiere date for Season 2 has not been announced, it is suspected to air in 2025.
