National Poll Worker Registration Day: How to Sign Up in Texas

The Election Assistance Commission (EAC) is holding its fourth annual National Poll Worker Registration Day on Thursday to address staff shortages at polling places during the pandemic.

EAC, a small government agency overseeing state and federal election administration, created this civic holiday to increase awareness, encourage community members to get involved, and address poll worker shortages.

How to Register as a Poll Worker in Texas:

-Visit the EAC registration page: HelpAmericaVote.gov

Requirements:

-Must be a registered voter in the state.
-Ages: 18+ or 16 if registering as a student election official in Texas.
-State residency required.

Poll Worker Duties:

-Check-in voters at polling locations.
-Assist with questions about the voting process.
-Thank voters as they leave.
