As Invest 97L moves towards the Gulf of Mexico, the latest from the National Hurricane Center suggests tropical storm warnings are likely.
This storm is unlikely to impact Texas, instead, it is predicted to make landfall on the Florida Peninsula early Saturday.
Per the Naples Daily News, Invest 97L is expected to strengthen into a tropical depression and could become Tropical Storm Debby with a:
- 60% chance of formation within 48 hours.
- 90% chance within 7 days, say forecasters.
Tropical Storm Debby would be the fourth named storm of the 2024 Atlantic Hurricane Season, which runs from June 1 to November 30.
