83-Year-Old Woman Dies in Michigan Gyroplane Crash

An 83-year-old Michigan woman, Karol Kay DeGraw, died on Saturday when her gyroplane crashed in Napoleon Township, approximately 85 miles west of Detroit.

"... last seen alive taking off from [her] private airstrip ... Cause of crash is under investigation by the Federal Aviation Administration, National Transportation Safety Board, and Township Police."

DeGraw was alone in the plane and her intended destination is unknown, though police believe she planned to remain in the local area.
