Police kill shooter in Bastrop County.

The Bastrop County sheriff's office refused to identify the shooter, despite a 911 caller's statement that they were "indiscriminately" firing at the time.

Bastrop County Sheriff's Deputies Kill Indiscriminate Shooter

Bastrop, TX – Bastrop County sheriff's deputies responded to an emergency call on Saturday night about a person "indiscriminately shooting" east of Bastrop. The shooter fired at deputies, who returned fire, killing the suspect.

"The sheriff's office responded to an area east of Bastrop at 8:48 p.m. after receiving a call about a person shooting randomly. The person shot at a deputy, who was unharmed, prompting the SWAT team to be called in." Bastrop County Sheriff's Office said in a statement.

The shooter began firing at the responding SWAT deputies, and the suspect was shot dead.

The sheriff's office has stated that no further information will be released as the investigation is ongoing.
