Austin School District CFO Eduardo Ramos Placed on Paid Leave After Arrest for Insurance Fraud

Austin, Texas - Chief financial officer of the Austin school district, 51-year-old Eduardo Ramos, was arrested on July 31 by the Austin school district Police Department on a warrant from Round Rock Police.

This arrest does not involve any alleged criminal activity related to Ramos' work at the district or with any district staff or students. - Austin School District Official

A statement by Superintendent Matias Segura confirmed Ramos' placement on paid leave, though Ramos had previously announced his departure for August 16.

Katrina Montgomery, assistant superintendent of finance, has been named interim CFO.

Ramos has held the position of CFO since 2021.
