Buca Di Beppo Files for Bankruptcy, Shuts Down More Locations

On the heels of recent closures, Buca Di Beppo has filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy, per court documents. The company cites financial woes due to rising costs and hiring difficulties, and owes close to $50 million to 30 creditors.

"The company is committed to ensuring that the restaurants operate as usual, and all gift cards, reservations, and promotional services currently remain active and redeemable," Buca Di Beppo statement, per court documents.

Since COVID hit in 2020, the Italian-American chain has been slowly shutting its doors, with almost 20% of locations closing last month, per Restaurant Business Magazine.

"This move is the best next step for our brand... by restructuring with the continued support of our lenders, we are paving the way toward a reinvigorated future," Rich Saultz, President, Buca Di Beppo.

Buca Di Beppo currently has 44 locations in 14 states and abroad, and is in the process of opening a new location. The company was founded in 1993 and purchased by Planet Hollywood International in 2008.
