Hurricane Debby: Now a Category 1 Storm, Expected to Make Landfall in Florida

Former Tropical Storm Debby has intensified to a Category 1 hurricane with maximum sustained windspeeds of 75 mph. Landfall is expected along Florida's Gulf Coast on Monday, bringing the potential for 30 inches of rain and life-threatening storm surge.

National Hurricane Center:

"Hurricane conditions are expected Monday along Florida's Big Bend region...Tropical storm conditions are possible along the west coast of Florida, including Tampa and St. Petersburg."
