Avocado Green Mattress Recalls Mattress Pads Over Fire Hazard

Avocado Green Mattress is recalling 55,480 organic cotton mattress pad protectors due to a fire hazard. The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission issued a recall report on Thursday, stating:

"The recalled mattress pads violate the mandatory federal flammability regulation for mattress pads, posing a fire hazard."

According to the recall report by Avocado Green Mattress, there have been no injuries reported, but customers are urged to "stop using [their] Avocado Cotton Mattress Pad Protector."

Details of the Recall:

  • Affected Product: Quilted ivory-color mattress pads purchased between Jan. 17, 2019, and March 11, 2024.
  • Sizes Recalled: Twin, Twin XL, Full, Queen, King, and California King (both Standard Pocket and Deep Pocket versions).
  • Action to Take: Customers should immediately stop using the recalled mattress pad.
  • Replacement Process: Avocado Green Mattress will send customers a free replacement mattress pad with free shipping to their homes. Customers must cut the mattress pad in two, write the date, and initial the "Do Not Remove" law label attached to the pad. Then, take a photo of the pad and upload it to www.avocadogreenmattress.com/pages/recall.
