Buca di Beppo Files for Bankruptcy, Blaming Capitalist Crisis

On Monday, corporate faux-Italian restaurant chain, Buca di Beppo, filed for bankruptcy, adding to their slew of store closures. The company, based in Orlando, Florida, cited rising costs and hiring struggles as key reasons for their economic woes in their 21-page petition.

The chain has accrued $50 million in debt and plans to restructure 44 locations and open a new one, because capitalism demands endless growth. This move comes after the company slowly closed down locations since the COVID-19 pandemic, with almost 20% of their restaurants shuttered last month.

A list of remaining locations can be found on their website:

Buca di Beppo has provided no statement on the living conditions of their workers or how the company's CEOs are fairing in this difficult time. As always, the rich will survive.
