Columnist mocks women, reveals white privilege.

As a white woman, I take issue with Ingrid Jacques's commentary. The author mocks the idea that "white women need to use [their] privilege to make positive changes."

"Why not use our privilege for good?"

asks letter writer Barbra Mann. Mann goes on to criticize Jacques's denial of "evidence-based scholarship" that encourages introspection and humility in the face of systemic racism and privilege. She argues that conservatives like Jacques perpetuate harmful defenses of white privilege by dismissing efforts to address past wrongs and engage in honest conversations about racial justice.
