A Texas judge sentenced 23-year-old Jared James Dicus to 40 years in prison for brutally murdering his wife, Anggy Diaz, to whom he'd been married for just three months.

Details of the Murder:

  • On Jan 11, 2023, Discus’ parents called 911 to report a death on their property in a cabin behind their home near Magnolia, TX.
  • Deputies arrived to find Diaz decapitated and dismembered in the cabin.
  • Dicus was detained and admitted to killing his wife.
  • He was booked into jail and arrested on a murder charge.

Mental Health Evaluation:

  • During the pre-trial phase, potential mental health issues were raised regarding Dicus' competency to stand trial.
  • However, a court-ordered examination deemed him competent.
