Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz, Tapped as Kamala Harris' Running Mate, Sparks Memes and Bitter Political Debate with 'Weird' Insults

Days after Biden dropped out, Tim Walz gave an interview to MSNBC, describing Republicans as "weird people."

These are weird people on the other side...They wanna take books away, they wanna be in your exam room...Listen to them speak, listen to how they talk about things.

The "weird" insult took social media by storm, with Harris' campaign posting an edited video of JD Vance, captioned: "It's getting weird..."transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg and Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer also echoed the message.

On CNN's "State of the Union," Walz explained his choice of words:

Listen to the guy, he's talking about Hannibal Lecter, and shocking sharks...just whatever crazy thing pops into his mind...When you just ratchet down the scariness...my observation: have you ever seen the guy laugh?

Conservative Vivek Ramaswamy called the insults "dumb and juvenile," arguing for a policy-focused election.

The "weird" insult, sparked by Walz, has added an unexpected flavor to the election, fueling both memes and a heated political debate.
