Body Recovered from Lake Austin, Death Investigation Underway

Austin, TX – On Tuesday, the Austin Police Department (APD) announced they have initiated a death investigation following the discovery of a body in Lake Austin.

In a press conference, officer Austin Zarling revealed:

"Authorities received a 'check welfare urgent call' reporting an unresponsive person in the water at 2008 Scenic Drive. Officers responded to the scene at 7:50 p.m. and the person was pronounced deceased at 8:15 p.m."

No further details were provided by Zarling regarding the person's identity or cause of death.
