Bee Cave Public Library: Keeping the Community Connected and Engaged

As summer ends, the Bee Cave Public Library reflects on a busy season with nearly 15,000 visitors in June and July. The summer reading programs were a hit, with a bubble party, camp crafts, a reptile show, and magic. Age-specific programs included a sensory storytime, juggling workshop, robotics Lego, and pennant-making. The unique Camp Half-Blood brought Percy Jackson's adventures to life.

"The summer programs and services...are designed to keep children engaged in reading and learning while school is out, and to provide ways for the community to connect and have fun." Barbara Hathaway, Library Director

This fall, they're expanding with monthly BeeTweens and Lego Club, quarterly Bee Creative crafting, and popular Storytime. Plus, a special guitar concert, Songs in the Stacks, on Aug. 17. The library serves all: from caregivers meeting for Storytime to students with tutors, retirees reading newspapers, and those needing internet access during outages.

Bee Cave also offers reference services and databases for research, ancestry, languages, and now ParentTV, a streaming service with global expert-led parenting videos. All free with a library membership.
