Austin, Texas - 31-year-old Kamery Wooldridge has been arrested and charged with tampering with human remains, linked to the death of 24-year-old Cristian Rangel, whose body was found decomposing in a greenbelt in April.

Police believe Wooldridge was involved in Rangel's death and the disposal of his body, as outlined in the arrest affidavit.

On April 9, Rangel's girlfriend reported him missing since April 8 after going to a Walmart. Rangel's family later obtained surveillance video showing him entering a light-colored SUV, which then sped out of the lot, with the passenger door opening as if he tried to escape. The speed was deemed so high that, per the affidavit, "Rangel would have likely been seriously injured had he attempted to jump out."

Rangel's girlfriend informed police he bought drugs from a woman named "Cameron," driving a similar SUV. The phone number provided led to Wooldridge.

Wooldridge's previous encounters with police and her cellphone data placed her at the Walmart and body discovery site on April 8.

Rangel's body was found by a 911 caller on April 19, "covered with grass clippings as if... concealed."

Wooldridge has a prior jail sentence for methamphetamine possession.
