The Lowdown:
- The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) issued multiple recalls last week, including for Chrysler, Toyota, and BMW vehicles.
- Chrysler recalls 2023 Dodge Challengers due to a potential issue with the left rear seat not locking properly, increasing crash risks.
- Toyota distributor Gulf States issues a recall for various 2023-2025 models due to incorrect weight capacity labels, which may lead to overloading and increased crash risk.
- BMW recalls certain 2019-2021 models due to a potential starter motor overheating issue, which could result in a fire.
Chrysler Recall:
- Models Affected: 2023 Dodge Challenger
- Issue: Left rear seat may not lock in the upright position, increasing injury risk in a crash.
- Fix: Dealers will inspect and adjust the seat back latch striker for free.
- Owner Notification: Expected by Aug. 15, 2024.
