89-year-old hiker found alive after 10 days in Idaho wilderness

An 89-year-old hiker, Bing Olbum, who went missing in Idaho's Salmon-Challis National Forest on August 1st, has been found alive after almost 10 days. The [Custer County Sheriff's Office]

He was located early Sunday morning and safely returned home.

"Bing's will to survive has resulted in an unbelievably good ending to this incident," the sheriff's office said. "We hope that his recovery is swift, and he will be enjoying time with his family and friends."

Olbum had five days' worth of supplies with him and this was his first time on this particular trail, according to [officials who spoke with ABC News]
