The DNC looms, ready or not. Here's what we know:

Democratic National Convention (DNC) Preview

The DNC kicks off in Chicago next week, Aug. 19-22. It's the first time the event has been held in the city since 1996.

Evening events will be held at the United Center, while McCormick Place will host daytime activities. Find a map of venues here: https://chicago2024.com/venues/

VP Kamala Harris, her running mate Gov. Tim Walz, and President Biden are expected to speak. The full schedule hasn't been released yet.

Unlike previous years, the DNC won't formally nominate its candidates. Harris and Walz were already nominated via an online vote. This year's event will focus on speeches and the party platform.
