Austin Fire Department Battles Three-Alarm Blaze at Condo Complex

A three-alarm fire significantly damaged a condo complex in Central Austin early Tuesday, leaving eight people displaced.

"We received a 911 call after 1:15 a.m. about a fire at the Twelve Oaks condo complex... The fire was largely out by 2:15 a.m., but our work continued throughout the night." - Austin Fire Department Shift Cmdr. Eddie Martinez

The fire originated in a "void space" between the second and third floors and spread to the attic. The second and third floors sustained the brunt of the damage. In total, 12 of the 18 condos were damaged by fire, smoke, or water. Fortunately, no injuries were reported.

The cause of the fire has been deemed accidental, attributed to a plumber's work.
