Austin Police Identify Pedestrian Killed in Tarrytown Crash

The Austin Police Department has identified Allison Baker, 65, as the pedestrian who died after being struck by a driver in Tarrytown last Thursday.

The incident, which occurred at the intersection of Hillview Road and Greenlee Drive, also involved another pedestrian who was taken to the hospital with serious injuries.

While the driver cooperated with the investigation and remained unimpaired, it is unclear if they are facing any charges for the crash.

As of now, this is Austin's 51st fatal crash of 2024, resulting in a total of 54 "crash-related fatalities." Despite the slight decrease in numbers from 2023, where there were 56 fatal crashes and 59 fatalities by August 8, the frequency of these incidents remains concerning.
