ABC's Golden Bachelorette: Meet the Contestants, Including a 68-Year-Old Texas Rancher

A Texas man, David, is set to appear on ABC's "The Golden Bachelorette," a spinoff of the popular dating series "The Golden Bachelor.

The show premieres Sept. 18, featuring 61-year-old Joan Vassos, who fans will recognize from "The Golden Bachelor," where she won a rose from Gerry Turner. Vassos, a 61-year-old school administrator from Maryland, was previously married to John Vassos, who passed away from pancreatic cancer in 2021.

"I so thought that I was gonna be that girl who left that nobody remembers. I truly believed that was gonna be the outcome," Vassos said in an interview with Entertainment Tonight.

Meet David, the Texas Contestant:
David, 68, is a rancher from Austin, Texas. He's ready to date again after a 16-year break, focusing on his kids. David loves marathons and spontaneous travel. He considers his 91-year-old mother his hero.

David is one of 24 men vying for Joan Vassos' heart. The show only reveals first names and provides brief bios, keeping the contestants' identities a secret until the premiere.
