Texas heat remains high, yet forecasts indicate cooler temperatures by late September to early October.

In Texas, the weather typically cools down in late September to early October. Average highs drop to the 80s, with lows in the 60s, and the intensity of the heat reduces, especially at night. Northern regions may experience this shift earlier.

Rainfall & Hurricane Season:

Per the Farmer's Almanac, Texas is expected to receive rainfall and potential tropical storms by late August. The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration predicts a 90% chance of an above-average hurricane season.

60-Day Outlook:

  • August: Isolated storms, with a tropical storm threat mid-month. Avg. High: 99, Low: 76.
  • September: A mix of sunny and stormy days, with a tropical storm threat mid-month. Avg. High: 91, Low: 70.

The last day of summer is expected to be September 22, 2024, marked by the autumnal equinox.
