Austin School District CFO Reinstated, Won't Face Insurance Fraud Prosecution

Austin school district Chief Financial Officer Eduardo Ramos was reinstated Thursday following a decision by the Williamson County District Attorney's Office not to prosecute insurance fraud charges leveled against him. Ramos, 51, had been on paid administrative leave since July 31 due to an arrest warrant issued by the Round Rock Police Department.

"I trusted the process," Ramos said after his reinstatement. "Now it's time for me to move forward and continue to serve public education in whatever capacity I am called to serve next."

Ramos, who planned to leave the district for another opportunity, will officially depart in good standing on Friday, the district noted. He served the Austin district for three years.
