Perdue has issued a nationwide recall of its frozen, ready-to-eat chicken products due to potential contamination with foreign metals. The recall affects three product lines: Perdue Simply Smart Organic Breaded Chicken Breast Nuggets, Perdue Chicken Breast Tenders, and ButcherBox Organic Chicken Breast Nuggets, all with "best if used by" dates of March 23, 2025. The recall was initiated after multiple complaints of metal wire were found https://www.fsis.usda.gov/sites/default/files/food_label_pdf/2024-08/Recall-024-2024-Labels.pdf in the chicken. The FSIS urges consumers to dispose of the products or return them for a refund and has provided a contact number for further inquiries: Perdue Consumer Care at 1-866-866-3703. A total of 167,171 pounds of chicken is being recalled, as stated by the FSIS on Aug. 16, and the affected products were sold in stores and directly to customers online.
