Data Center Bringing Big Money to Taylor, Texas

A $225 million, 135,000-square-foot data center is coming to Taylor, Texas, with construction starting in July 2025. BPP Projects LLC is behind the project, which is expected to bring a $1 billion investment over 10 years.

We expect this to be a $1 billion project over the first 10 years due to the investment in servers and data equipment that usually gets updated every three to five. - Ben White, president of the Taylor Economic Development Corp.

The data center will create a minimum of five jobs, with BPP Projects agreeing to work with local agencies to recruit minority applicants. The city and development corporation are offering a 10-year, 50% property tax rebate for each phase of construction, as well as a rebate on local use tax.

BPP Projects, an Austin-based independent developer of data centers, is excited to partner with the city and TEDC, saying:

We are honored and grateful to be partnering with the TEDC and the city of Taylor and to have been awarded incentives to build our data center in Taylor, Texas. We are especially thankful for their support and look forward to supporting the city's rapid & exceptional growth story.

This news comes as Taylor, a former farming community, is on the brink of major growth due to Samsung's $17 billion semiconductor facility.
