Two dead in Odessa, Texas plane crash. A plane crashed into a residential area on August 20, 7 a.m., sparking a fire**. The fire has been contained, but two people are confirmed dead.

The plane hit power lines and traveled an entire block, damaging mobile homes and buildings. Sheriff Mike Griffis stated witnesses saw the plane struggling to gain altitude, and that the pilot attempted to avoid houses.

One woman was injured in a mobile home. The aircraft type is unknown, and the FAA will investigate. Midland Airport operations are unaffected.
