Shaq's Big Chicken Coming to Fort Worth

NBA Hall of Famer Shaquille O'Neal is bringing his chicken sandwich shop, Big Chicken, to North Texas. Here's what to know about the opening:

Opening Date and Promotions

O'Neal expects a big first week. The first 34 customers — a nod to his Lakers jersey number — will receive a year's worth of free food and drinks at Big Chicken, with a limit of $10 per week. The menu features options like The Ultimate: a mac and cheese and fried onion sandwich, along with crinkle-cut fries and milkshakes.

Opening Date

The Big Aristotle will open Big Chicken in Fort Worth on Sept. 3.

Location

The restaurant will be located at 9755 N. Freeway, Fort Worth, TX.

Other Texas Locations

According to its website, Big Chicken currently has four locations in Texas: Austin, Houston, Richmond, and a newly opened location in Lubbock. The Fort Worth location will be the first in North Texas.

Shaq's Ties to San Antonio, Texas

O'Neal played high school basketball in San Antonio after moving from New Jersey. He played at Robert C. Cole High School.

He led Cole to a 32-0 record in 1988 before falling to Liberty Hill in the regional final his junior year. His senior year, Shaq averaged 30 points, 22 rebounds, and nine assists, leading Cole to a 36-0 record and the state championship over Clarksville with 19 points and 26 rebounds.
