Democratic National Convention 2024: Kamala Harris Takes Center Stage as Biden's Successor

The 2024 Democratic National Convention kicked off with a bang as President Joe Biden endorsed Vice President Kamala Harris as the Democratic nominee for the upcoming presidential election. Gov. Tim Walz of Minnesota is Harris' running mate.

"I am honored to have served as President, and I know that Kamala Harris will lead this nation with strength and compassion," Biden said in his address. "She has been a dedicated public servant, and it's her turn to lead our great country forward."

The 81-year-old Biden's decision to step aside has injected new energy into the race, with recent polls showing Harris slightly ahead of former President Donald Trump, especially among women and younger voters.
