Search continues for Massachusetts man who vanished from South Carolina vacation rental

A Massachusetts man has gone missing while on vacation with his family in South Carolina, with his sudden disappearance possibly linked to a mental health crisis.

Stanley Kotowski, 60, was last seen on August 16, leaving his family's Hilton Head Island rental home without his shoes, phone, or wallet. Beaufort County law enforcement has been searching for Kotowski since, but have not been able to locate or contact him.

"He had, like, really bad insomnia for about a month. His anxiety just kept getting worse and worse... He thought someone was chasing him," Jackie Kotowski, Stanley's wife, told WJCL.

The Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office has deployed significant resources, including canines, drones, and helicopters, but days later, Kotowski remains missing.

The last sighting of Kotowski was captured on a resident's Ring camera. Investigators are asking anyone in the area to review their home security footage for leads.
