No Calamari Comeback at the DNC

There was no crispy-fried treat at Tuesday's Democratic National Convention during the ceremonial roll call vote. Rhode Island's nomination presentation in 2020 included the fried delight, which stole the show then. Chef John Bordieri, the "calamari ninja," was unlikely to reappear due to his support for Donald Trump, as reported by the Associated Press in June.

Vice President Kamala Harris and Minnesota Governor Tim Walz won the ceremonial roll call. Atlanta rapper Lil' John also made an appearance. Harris will formally accept the party's nomination for the 2024 Election in Chicago, where the DNC is being held through Thursday.
