Rising hip hop standout Shaboozey to preamble PBR Gambler Days

This weekend, Moody Center will host Gambler Days, a three-day bullfighting exhibition presented by the Professional Bull Riders (PBR) organization in support of the local Austin Gamblers. The event kicks off with a performance by rising hip hop artist Shaboozey on Friday, following his feature on Beyonce’s 2024 album “Cowboy Carter.” His single “A Bar Song (Tipsy)” has been number one on the Billboard Hot 100 for six weeks. Students can experience the event on the first night for a discounted $15 ticket with a valid college ID.

Saturday features a performance by Waco-born country singer Wade Bowen and a showcase from Austin Samba, a cultural collective with over 40 drummers and 60 dancers celebrating Brazilian Carnival. Sunday concludes with a family-friendly day featuring Austin-based swamp funk band Shinyribs and a bull riding championship.

MeadowFest uplifts world music for a mental health awareness fundraiser at the Far-Out

MeadowFest at The Far Out Lounge this Saturday combines music with mental health awareness. The event honors Meadow Goodman, the 15-year-old daughter of Austin musician Greg Goodman, who passed away after battling mental illness on August 12, 2023. All proceeds will support the SIMS Foundation and Out Youth Austin.

The event features a diverse lineup across two outdoor stages: Grammy-winning Latin funk band Grupo Fantasma, Colombian funk group Superfónicos, cumbia band Como Las Movies, and rhythm trio Nemegata.

Local music meetup with three underground gems inside Mohawk

Mohawk’s intimate indoor stage will host experimental pop production Intellectual Property, featuring synth chords that explore creativity and modern consumption. The night opens with local rock favorites Grocery Bag and Billy Glitter, offering a taste of Austin’s underground sound.
