Barron Trump Leaves Florida for New York to Attend College
Barron Trump, the youngest child of Donald and Melania Trump, has chosen a college in New York and will begin his fall 2024 classes soon. Donald Trump confirmed this in an Aug. 20 New York Post story: “He’s all set in a certain school that’s very good,” the former president told the New York Post in an exclusive interview. “He’s always been a very good student, he’s smart.”
Neither parent has revealed which New York university Barron has chosen, but Donald Trump said his team would release the news "soon," according to the Post.
The 6-foot-7 (or in some reports 6-foot-9) son of the former president has maintained a low profile, skipping the Republican National Convention in Milwaukee in July. His half-niece, 17-year-old Kai Trump, announced her college choice: the University of Miami.
This time of year, colleges welcome students with move-in dates, a rite of passage for many families. While Donald Trump campaigns for the 2024 presidential election against Vice President Kamala Harris, it’s unclear if he or Melania will attend Barron's move-in events or if Barron will live off-campus.
Barron will not attend the University of Pennsylvania or Georgetown University, both of which have strong ties to the Trump family. Donald Trump and his other children attended these universities.
Barron's choice to attend a college in New York marks a departure from family tradition. It remains to be seen if Melania will relocate closer to Barron.
