Powerball Jackpot Rises to $34 Million on Saturday

The Powerball jackpot has risen to $34 million for Saturday's drawing after it reset to $20 million on Wednesday.

Two Powerball players have hit the jackpot this month. A single ticket sold in California matched all six numbers, winning a $44.3 million jackpot with a $21.9 million cash value. Earlier, a Pennsylvania player won a $213.8 million jackpot, making this the seventh time the Powerball jackpot has been claimed this year.

Saturday's jackpot is estimated at $34 million with an estimated cash value of $16.9 million after taxes. The winning numbers will be drawn just after 11 p.m. ET on Saturday.

How to Play the Powerball

To play the Powerball, visit your local convenience store, gas station, or grocery store to purchase a $2 ticket. In some states, you can also buy tickets online.

Pick six numbers on your ticket: five white balls ranging from 1 to 69 and one red Powerball between 1 and 26.

To increase your chances, add a “Power Play” for $1, which multiplies non-jackpot winnings by 2X, 3X, 4X, 5X, or 10X. You can also ask a cashier for a "Quick Pick" for computer-generated numbers.

Drawings are held on Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday nights. If there's no jackpot winner, the cash prize increases by millions.
