Missing Boy with Autism Found Dead in Texas Lake
The body of 8-year-old Ryan Akabusi was recovered Sunday morning from a lake near where he had gone missing, according to the Fort Bend County Sheriff's Office. Texas Equusearch found the boy around 6:45 a.m.
Ryan had gone missing from his Richmond home around 5 a.m. Saturday. His mother, Ademorowa Oladeinde, told a local news outlet that home surveillance footage showed Ryan leaving the house, and thirty minutes later, a neighbor's camera showed him walking down a nearby street. Oladeinde later found a pair of Ryan's shoes on the road.
Late Saturday afternoon, a local AMBER Alert was issued, and Texas Equusearch organized a search party.
Captain Dalia Simons did not disclose how Ryan had entered the lake but said there is no sign of foul play. Investigators are gathering footage from neighbors to create a timeline for Ryan's disappearance.
