Arrests and Thefts Mar ACL Music Festival's Opening Weekend

Austin Police Department data reveals a chaotic first weekend at this year's Austin City Limits Music Festival in Zilker Park, with two arrests, 70 offense reports, and 225 calls for service.

Most reports involved stolen items, predominantly cellphones, with 42 out of 44 stolen items being phones. Arrests included one individual for evading on foot and another based on a request.

To minimize theft risk, the Police Department advises securing phones and ensuring backpacks or fanny packs are zipped up. Non-active thefts can be reported via the Police Department's ireportaustin.com or by calling Austin 311.

ACL Fest's Lost & Found Service

For those who misplaced items, the Austin City Limits Music Festival offers a lost-and-found service. During the event, attendees can visit the main Guest Services booth during festival hours or use aclfestival.liff.app to search for lost items or post alerts. The Guest Services booth is located on William Barton Drive, just off of Barton Springs Road.

Before attending, visitors can register at aclfestival.liff.app/#/protect/register to be notified if their lost IDs or wallets are found.

A post-festival lost and found will operate at the Guest Services booth from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Monday.
