ACL Fest: Weekend Two Kicks Off with a Bang!
Alright, folks, buckle up! The second weekend of Austin City Limits Music Festival 2024 is here, and it's not fooling around. We've got some fresh faces like country darling Mickey Guyton, old-school rapper Jeezy, and electro-pop queen Santigold joining the party.
Here's a rundown of the best acts from Friday of weekend one that you won't want to miss this time around.
Chris Stapleton
Chris Stapleton turned ACL into a full-blown Stagecoach affair with his massive, twangy hooks and a voice that'd make even Trent Lott blush. He sang like a wolf tearing into a steak, but with a soul-searching depth that'll make you swoon. "I ain’t there yet," he croons to his muse. A man working on himself? Yes, please. — Ramon Ramirez

Blink-182
Pop-punk powerhouse Blink-182 brought the house down—literally. Fireworks, fireballs, aliens, and even a celeb sighting. The crowd lost it over both new tunes and classic hits. It was so good, it brought Tom DeLonge to tears. — Mars Salazar
At ACL Fest, ever bratty blink-182 partied with Jared Padalecki, joked about sex and UFOS
Foster the People
Mark Foster owned the Honda stage at sunset with a swagger that'd make John Wayne proud. Clad in heavenly off-white, every note Foster sang was a mini-sermon. “It’s so good to be here, it’s been seven years," he gushed. With old hits and new tracks from their 2024 album, Foster the People had everyone grooving like it was 1999. And, of course, the epic "Pumped Up Kicks" finale had everyone singing along. — Mars Salazar
Carín León
Carín León owned the Texas stage like he was born on it. This Mexican regional star's soulful range fits perfectly with American R&B, soul, and country—not your average ranchera. From moody ballads to rowdy anthems, León had the crowd in a frenzy. And did he really end with “Tennessee Whiskey”? Si, ese primo sonorense es bien country. — Emiliano Tahui Gomez
Dasha
Country upstart Dasha delivered a set that had the crowd buzzing, especially with her breakup anthem "Ain't No Friend of Mine" and the timeless "Austin." She stomped the stage in killer boots while a dozen beefy dancers recreated her viral TikTok dance. The men stripped off their shirts Chippendale-style, and the crowd went wild. Out in Nashville, some unlucky cowboy is wishing he'd picked another route. — Deborah Sengupta Stith
Stephen Sanchez
Stephen Sanchez opened his set like a 1950s TV special, complete with a "live studio audience" intro. His velvety vocals and smooth delivery whipped the crowd into a frenzy as he blended rock and jazz into one sweet, old-school sound. Dressed to the nines, Sanchez threw his guitar to a bandmate and left everyone dancing to a swinging final number. — Keri Heath
