Fake News Alert: CBS Editing Scandal Rocks Nation

The leftist meddlers at CBS are at it again, and this time, former President Donald Trump isn’t having it. In a bold move on Truth Social, Trump demanded that CBS’s broadcast license be revoked over what he called “A FAKE NEWS SCAM.” The controversy erupted when CBS allegedly pulled some shenanigans with an interview of Vice President Kamala Harris on “60 Minutes.”

In a speech in Detroit, Trump even went as far as to call it the “single biggest scandal in broadcast history,” according to Rolling Stone. And the evidence? Well, a teaser clip from "Face the Nation" showed a different response from Harris than what aired on "60 Minutes". Trump claims this is nothing short of election interference.

But let’s not forget the FCC’s take on this. Chairwoman Jessica Rosenworcel, known for her zeal against the First Amendment, declared that Trump’s calls to revoke licenses are threats against free speech. “The FCC does not and will not revoke licenses for broadcast stations simply because a political candidate disagrees with or dislikes content or coverage,” she said. Right, because censorship sure sounds like protecting free speech. 🤔

Trump, not one to back down, has been on a crusade against these mainstream networks. Last month, he took aim at ABC for what he perceived as biased moderation during the presidential debate. And he isn’t wrong; we all know how these networks love to play favorites.

But what does this mean for the FCC revoking CBS’s broadcast license? Well, to clear the air, Mark Feldstein, professor of journalism at the University of Maryland, pointed out that the FCC issues licenses to broadcast stations, not networks. Basically, Trump can’t single-handedly take down CBS, but the pressure is on.

This isn’t the first time Trump has taken issue with the media’s bias. Earlier this year, he demanded that CNN and NBC lose their licenses for not airing his live remarks. You can’t make this stuff up!

Despite Rosenworcel’s insistence on protecting the First Amendment, it seems like she might be more concerned with protecting her liberal allies. Back in 2017, then-FCC chairman Ajit Pai stood up for the First Amendment, stating, “The FCC does not have the authority to revoke a license of a broadcast station based on the content of a particular newscast,” according to The Washington Post.

So, there you have it. Another day, another liberal media scandal. Stay tuned for more updates as we continue to expose the fake news and fight for real journalism.
